Why It Matters

The Challenge We're Solving

The lack of affordable and supportive housing in North Carolina continues to grow, leaving many residents facing impossible circumstances.

🏠

Chronic housing instability and homelessness without access to safe alternatives

🔄

Recovery challenges without consistent housing and wraparound support

💼

Employment barriers including gaps in work history and limited training

🚪

Re-entry obstacles after incarceration with no housing pathway

👨‍👩‍👧

Family displacement and generational poverty cycles

🎖️

Veteran homelessness with 18+ active veterans needing housing in Winston-Salem alone

NCGDI exists to change that — through housing, services, and partnerships.
