At NC Growth & Development Initiative, every program, partnership, and development is designed to create measurable, long-term outcomes for individuals, families, and communities across North Carolina.
Where We Stand Today
How We Create Lasting Change
Housing Stability
Stable housing creates the foundation for life transformation. Our work directly addresses the shortage of safe, affordable housing across North Carolina — for individuals in recovery, returning citizens, veterans, and families in crisis.
Recovery & Re-Entry Support
Housing alone isn't enough. Through our community partner network, residents gain access to case management, recovery support groups, mental health referrals, transportation, and life-skills coaching designed to support long-term stability.
Workforce & Economic Mobility
Economic stability is the path to independence. Our upcoming workforce program will connect residents to skilled trades training, digital employment, resume coaching, and job placement — creating sustainable income and long-term independence.
Community Partnerships
We strengthen communities by working with service providers, behavioral health agencies, workforce development programs, city and county housing offices, private landlords, and local nonprofits — creating efficient, coordinated care networks.
By 2029, NCGDI Aims To:
Fully Operational Campus

100+ Landlord Partners

500+ Residents Served

The Challenge We're Solving
The lack of affordable and supportive housing in North Carolina continues to grow, leaving many residents facing impossible circumstances.
Chronic housing instability and homelessness without access to safe alternatives
Recovery challenges without consistent housing and wraparound support
Employment barriers including gaps in work history and limited training
Re-entry obstacles after incarceration with no housing pathway
Family displacement and generational poverty cycles
Veteran homelessness with 18+ active veterans needing housing in Winston-Salem alone
NCGDI exists to change that — through housing, services, and partnerships.
