Who We Are

NC Growth & Development Initiative, Inc. (NCGDI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to revitalizing North Carolina’s communities through housing, wellness, and workforce innovation.

Founded by James W. Powell, Jr., NCGDI was established to address the lack of sustainable, supportive housing options for families and individuals in transition.

Our work begins where stability is needed most — combining housing development, supportive care coordination, and employment training to help residents build lasting independence.
