NC Growth & Development Initiative, Inc. (NCGDI) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit community development organization based in North Carolina. We are dedicated to building sustainable housing solutions, strengthening communities, and expanding opportunities that help individuals, families, and communities thrive.

We design and develop affordable and recovery-oriented housing models that promote long-term stability, wellness, and economic opportunity for those facing housing insecurity, recovery transitions, or workforce barriers.

Prosperity Commons Supportive Housing

Prosperity Commons is our flagship housing initiative — a supportive housing community being developed to offer safe, affordable homes coupled with supportive services for residents in recovery and transition. Through strategic partnerships and community support, this project expands access to housing stability, community connection, and growth pathways.

    Under the leadership of James W. Powell Jr., Executive Director, NCGDI partners with city and county agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private funders to deliver safe, code-compliant, and recovery-oriented housing and community solutions.
