OUR IMPACT
Growth & Development 2026
Our Impact
At NC Growth & Development Initiative (NCGDI), our mission is to expand affordable housing, supportive services, and economic opportunity across North Carolina. Every program, partnership, and development is designed to create measurable, long-term outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.
This page highlights the real progress we’re making today — and the future impact we are building toward as funding and partnerships expand.
Why Our Work Matters
The lack of affordable and supportive housing in North Carolina continues to grow, leaving many residents facing:
Chronic housing instability
Recovery challenges without support
Barriers to employment
Limited access to safe, stable environments
Re-entry obstacles after incarceration
Family displacement and generational hardship
NCGDI exists to change that.
Through housing, services, and partnerships, we help people move from crisis → stability → independence.
Our Impact Areas
1. Housing Stability
Stable housing creates the foundation for life transformation.
Our efforts currently support:
Affordable housing development in multiple NC communities
Supportive housing environments for men in recovery
Guaranteed-rent placements through landlord partnerships
Housing access for individuals in re-entry or transition
Reduced vacancies for property owners who join our program
Future Housing Impact Goals (2024–2027):
Develop or support 80+ supportive housing beds
Create and preserve dozens of affordable units statewide
Expand partnerships with 50+ landlords and property owners
Launch multi-phase development at Prosperity Commons
2. Recovery & Re-Entry Support
Housing alone isn’t enough — individuals need stability, consistency, and support as they rebuild.
Through community partners, residents gain access to:
Case management
Recovery support groups
Peer mentorship
Mental health referrals
Transportation resources
Life-skills coaching
Projected Impact:
Connect 100+ residents per year to stabilization resources
Reduce relapse and recidivism rates among supported individuals
Strengthen long-term outcomes for returning citizens
3. Workforce Pathways & Economic Mobility (Coming Soon)
Economic stability is the path to independence. With adequate funding, NCGDI will launch a comprehensive workforce initiative offering:
Skilled trades training
Electrical fundamentals and tool safety
Digital literacy and remote work opportunities
Resume and interview coaching
Paid job placements and apprenticeships
Financial literacy education
Expected Impact Once Fully Funded:
Serve 60–100 participants annually
Place 40+ residents into employment or training
Support 25+ individuals with remote-work readiness
Increase long-term income stability among residents
4. Community Partnerships & Support Services
We strengthen local communities by working with:
Service providers
Behavioral health agencies
Workforce development programs
City and county housing offices
Private landlords and property owners
Local nonprofits and support networks
Partnership Impact:
Expanded housing availability
Streamlined referral pathways
Strengthened recovery networks
Increased community stability
More efficient use of public resources
